Living in North America, is it possible to have an option to put the units measure of the software in inch with at least 3 decimals.
Living in Europe, is it possible to have an option to put the units measure of the software in metrical with a comma before decimals
Boxshot works in centimetres and (in version 5) we provide 1 decimal digit which gives you millimetres. I believe this should be enough. It is not a big deal to add another digit, but I wonder if we really need that.
Could you provide some real-life example when it was a problem?
I use blueprint given by printers for box. They frequently use sizes smaller than millimeter for parts of the box. Also, I can't use "fit to image" because all the faces are on the same image. But adding a second decimal is not a priority for me because less than a millimetre error is not a big deal.
The original question of this thread was to have an option in inch for North America.
I don't think we are ready to add units to Boxshot at the moment, but we'll consider it for further updates. Of course, for inches we'll provide more decimal digits.
On the other hand, with the "Fit to images" feature, do units really matter?
I apologize for the request in another one. Mine, using the comma besides the dot on the decimals, derives from the fact that on the keyboard, where there are numbers, there is a comma. It's just more convenient to use instead of the dot.
See here https://support.appsforlife.com/communities/1/topics/2642-coma-as-decimal-separator - there were issues with that before, so we use points for now. We'll consider reviewing this once version 5 is ready.
We added support of commas in 5.0.2. The dot is still the main delimiter, but commas are now accepted, as well: https://boxshot.com/2019/04/13/boxshot-5-0-2.html
