Origami 3: Multiple shapes in one scene

Chris Davey 7 months ago updated by Vitaly Ovchinnikov 7 months ago 1

I am struggling to get multiple shapes in one scene. There are no instructions for this. I've tried having two seperate layers. I've tried placing two different dielines on the same layer (but keeps having errors).

Can someone please help with this?

While Origami 3 is in beta, we do not provide tutorials, so you are a little bit on your own. Sorry about that.

Basically, if you have something selected in the scene, the bottom right button acts as "refresh". If nothing is selected, it acts as "add". So what you need is to unselect the first shape in the scene menu, then click the "add" button at the bottom right corner to add another shape. You can them move it using the controls at the scene panel.

Here I started Origami and added a sample pizza box:

Here I got it selected in the scene and clicking outside of it in the list to unselect it:

Once I clicked that empty place, the box is not selected anymore and I see the "add" button at the bottom right corner again:

So I click it again and add another pizza box, then use controls at the scene panel to move it aside:

Hope you got the idea :)
