Decal render issues

In preview the decal) the orange diamond) looks fine - but when I render it, the shape seems to have holes in it. Any idea how to resolve this. The triangle shapes were made with Extrude.

Hello Richard,

What is the software version you use and can I have a sample project please?

Thank you.

Maybe this is because of missed artwork, but that's what I see here:

If you use semi-transparent decals to cut the "side" part, you should probably apply it to the backside, as well. Otherwise please do File->Collect Resources to get all the artwork with the project file and send it again.

Looks like a bug :( Thanks for reporting this.

Meanwhile consider using something different instead of decals. You can achieve pretty much the same results by placing a plane object with the same texture on top of each triangle.

It is maybe because I am placing a decal on an object that already has a texture applied to it?

This looks more like a z-fighting between the decal and the base object. It shouldn't be like that, but for some reasons it is. We'll have a look.

Thanks - look forward to the answer coming soon!

This has been fixed in 5.1.2: https://boxshot.com/2019/12/21/boxshot-5-1-2.html - use the decal's new offset parameter to avoid z-fighting, if any. I tested your scene with the new version and it works just fine.
